
I have been extensively involved in community work for over 20 years as an imam, advisor, facilitator, teacher, activist, mediator, arbitrator, coordinator, and community leader. I actively involved with the Somali Community and its organizations throughout Canada. I am founder and president of Coalition Muslim Organizations (COMO) which is an umbrella organization that has 35 Mosques and Muslim Organizations. I am also president of the Somali Relief Network. I am member of the Commissioner’s Advisory Committee on Visible Minorities for Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). I am a member of the Imam Council of Canada and I work extensively with other communities such as Indo-Pakistani, Arab, Guyanese, Africans, Turkish, and the Canadian Jewish Congress. I have won many awards and recognitions including "The Queen Golden Jubilee Medal" for our extensive community service.

Adam Esse attended elementary school in Hargaysa, Somalia and primary and secondary school in Mogadishu, Somalia. In 1982 Adam Esse graduated from Polytechnic high school in Mogadishu where he had a grade point average of 85% he was awarded a scholarship to go to Polytechnic University forging his service commitment due to academic achievement. He graduate from Polytechnic University in August, 1984 majoring Civil Engineering.
In 1984 Adam Esse received a scholarship to attend Umm Ul-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Saudi Arabia. In 1986 Adam Esse completed the Arabic language requirement from Umm Ul-Qura University, there were student representing 23 countries and he finished 1st and was awarded a scholarship to study law at Umm Ul-Qura University. While he was studying law Adam Esse received an invitation to lecture abroad in Canada, at this time he transferred and completed his law degree at American Open University in Virginia, USA.
In 1990-1991 received accounting diploma from Pick Forward Centre at Toronto, ON. Canada.
In 1991-1992 completed Civil Engineering certification at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, ON, Canada.
In 1998 Adam Esse started his Masters Degree at the American Open University in Virginia, USA while teaching Islamic law at the University.
